At this year's Cosmet'Agora in Paris, BASF's Personal Care division introduced Aloversil, a new active ingredient formulated to support the appearance of denser, fuller-looking hair, part of a broader formulation concept the company calls Beyond Beauty, built around cross-category, sensory-first ingredient design.

The launch sits inside a hair-care category that has quietly become one of beauty's most active innovation battlegrounds, as brands race to offer science-backed alternatives to the minoxidil-dominated density conversation. Alongside Aloversil, BASF also presented Dehyquart S18, a readily biodegradable conditioning agent positioned as a higher-efficacy, lower-impact alternative for hair formulators. Ingredients like these rarely reach consumers under their own names, they surface months later buried in an INCI list on the back of a bottle, but they are worth tracking now, since they tend to define which finished products actually make it to shelves over the following year.
